Le chanteur d'Ultraphallus propose un album aux sonorités hybrides, allant de l'ambient-drone à la musique électro-acoustique, du sampling et du field recording au free-jazz. Phil Maggi s'entoure de collaborateurs prestigieux (Oren Bloedow d'Elysian Fields, Maja Jantar, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, Tom Malmendier, Gabriel Séverin et Ludovic Medery) sur ces huit compositions inspirées des écrits d'Henry Corbin, de Nico, de Scott Walker et de la musique traditionnelle.
